Why We Support Children's Miracle Network ... Barry's Story
Barry Levy has had personal experience with the anguish of having a child born with a life threatening birth defect. His daughter, Sara—his first child-- was born with a rare condition and given a 60% chance of survival. Now, many years later, Dr. Sara Levy is now an Emergency Room physician with two young daughters of her own.The staff at Children’s Hospital are our heroes. We honor their service and give back a portion of every commission we make as our way of expressing our gratitude and it’s our hope to make miracles possible for other families as well. Since then, we have learned that it is a collection of hard working health care professionals, many making their home right here in the Washington DC Metro/Maryland area, all coming together for a common cause. That cause is to help young people over come unfortunate health issues that life sometimes throws our way. We take pride in supporting in any way that we can, the good work these people do at Children's. RE/MAX Allegiance and our Team rally around the annual goal of raising money and donating portions of our income to help Children's in their quest to heal young people when they need healing. Our team is committed to providing outstanding results for buyers and sellers referred to us by our past clients. We have discovered that Children's Miracle Network shares similar commitments to their patients. And since their services survive on sponsorships and donations we are happy to contribute and proud to support them in saving lives and families, as they did ours.
Sincerely,
Ellen & Barry Levy

Children’s National is in full force preparing and responding to the coronavirus. The hospital CEO, Dr. Kurt Newman, has taken a strong lead in this urgent endeavor, working with the city and federal agencies to bring their infectious disease, emergency response, and other expertise to this extraordinary challenge. In March, they opened the first drive-up testing facility in the nation for kids and have tested over 900 patients. They have also set up a tent outside of our Emergency Department to test patients. In total, they have seen 171 positive tests and had 44 hospital admissions.
These donations help them meet their greatest needs – such as operating their drive-up/walk-up testing site, expanding their telemedicine options, and providing resources like child care for the well-being of dedicated care providers and staff. They’re also accelerating research efforts to improve treatments and scientific understanding of this new health threat.
